Specializations: The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Couples Program and Educator for Bringing Baby Home Program

Joe is a graduate of Towson University where he received his Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. He completed his post-graduate education at Shippensburg University, Liberty University, and the Gottman Institute in Seattle.  Joe specializes in couples counseling and sex therapy; and utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques including the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Sensate Focus in his work. He has been trained by Drs. Julie and John Gottman and is a Certified Gottman Therapist. As a Gottman Leader of The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work Couples Program and Bringing Baby Home Program, Joe enjoys presenting these workshops to the community to help couples improve relationships and to help pregnant & parenting families prepare for the transition to parenthood.

Brigit Beals, LCPC

LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Brigit received her Master’s degree in counseling from McDaniel College where she made the unique decision to complete both tracks of the graduate program. Her specializations include clinical mental health counseling and school counseling.

She focuses on creating a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment with empathy and authenticity.

Brigit practices from a humanistic approach of person-centered counseling, while utilizing methods of solution-focused brief therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Inspired by play therapy techniques, Brigit also enjoys incorporating therapeutic games and activities into her practice.

Ellie Bentz, LCSW-C

Ellie uses a client-centered approach to provide a safe and empathetic environment. She views therapy as a process of teamwork between the therapist and the individual, couple, or family. Drawing from cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, family, and play therapy techniques, Ellie works with her clients to find their unique path to stronger emotional health. 

She has experience working with ages 2 to 75 with a variety of concerns including anxiety, mood disorders, grief, and trauma. She is trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and child-parent psychotherapy. She tailors therapy to help you identify your goals, build on your strengths to reach them, and challenge what gets in the way.

Carrie Cheston, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Ms. Cheston received her Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical track from University of Maryland. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and ADHD. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness and play therapy techniques to guide her practice.

Ms. Cheston believes everyone has a unique experience and strives to meet her clients where they are to create a safe, empathetic, caring, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. She approaches treatment from a client centered approach to help overcome challenges, build upon strengths, and enhance growth.  

Chris Dagenhart, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Chris received his Master’s degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. He has prior experience working with mental and behavioral health management in residential settings, as well as community case management. Chris works from a client-centered and ecological approach that places the client at the helm of the therapeutic process. His commitment to understanding the unique contexts of each client allows him to tailor interventions that foster empowerment and growth. With a focus on collaboration, Chris strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, ultimately guiding them towards achieving their personal goals.

Chris provides therapy to clients across various age groups, focusing primarily on trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues. By creating a safe and supportive environment, he helps individuals explore their feelings and experiences, fostering healing and resilience. His approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, ensuring that they receive the appropriate support and tools to address their challenges.

Matthew Donahue, LCPC

Matthew is a graduate of Hood College where he received his master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialty in Thanatology, Death and Dying, and trauma therapy. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while working from a Reality Therapy perspective that our past decisions do not dictate our future. His approach emphasizes personal responsibility and encourages clients to focus on their current choices and goals, which can lead to meaningful changes in their lives. With a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding grief and trauma, Matthew provides a supportive environment for individuals navigating challenging emotional experiences.

He has extensive experience providing therapy to individuals aged 4 to 71, making him well-equipped to address the unique needs of clients across the lifespan. His expertise encompasses a wide range of issues, including anxiety, grief and loss, mood disorders, substance use and addiction, depression, and trauma. This broad knowledge allows him to deliver tailored therapeutic interventions that support mental health and promote well-being in diverse populations.

Carissa Ferguson, LMSW

Carissa received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Carissa has experience working with all ages from 6 to 106. Carissa is a firm believer that every person has value and their experiences deserves to be heard and validated in an environment that feels supportive. Carissa appreciates the opportunity to build rapport and strong therapeutic relationships with a diversity of individuals. Carissa’s goal is to help you navigate challenges by giving you the tools and confidence toward a journey of mental and emotional wellbeing and healing. Carissa specializes in grief and loss, anxiety, depression and trauma.

Samuel Lee, LCPC

LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Sometimes, it’s not easy to manage our emotions due to the visceral experiences that impact our lives. Samuel will work with you to not only understand your emotional experiences but to assist you in harnessing your emotional state so you can interact more effectively with your environment. He works to understand your “language” to help model appropriate and effective means of being, with a good laugh. 

His expertise includes depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, spirituality, life transitions, Emotional Recognition, and Coping Skills.

Katie Miller, LMSW

Katie received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Katie was driven to work in the mental health field after spending time learning about the benefits of horticultural therapy. She currently utilizes multiple therapeutic modalities, depending on the needs of her client. She works with all ages and is able to provide a warm, safe, and collaborative experience. Katie believes that with the right support, we can all tap into our most resilient selves and take the steps necessary to lead a full, safe, and happy life.


Cathy Rampulla, LMSW

Cathy received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Salisbury University. She is a compassionate and skilled therapist with experience working with adolescents and adults. She specializes in supporting clients aged 14 and up through life’s challenges.

Cathy takes a personalized approach to therapy, thoughtfully blending a variety of evidence-based techniques to address each client’s unique needs. Her dedication lies in creating a warm, welcoming space where individuals feel safe to share, heal, and grow.

Taylor Wright, LMSW

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

Taylor received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship and has extensive experience working with neurodiverse individuals and veterans. She previously provided Equine Assisted Psychotherapy to children and adolescents. As a provider, Taylor uses a client-centered approach to help you make a path forward. She also provides psychoeducation and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques as adjunct therapies. Taylor has experience working with individuals with a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. 

Patsy Zetkulic, LCPC

LICENSED CLINICAL PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR

Patsy is a graduate of Hood College, where she received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has provided therapy for adults and adolescents with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Patsy uses a strength-based approach to create a safe environment where clients can gain new perspectives and feel empowered to create change in their lives. Patsy uses the approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. She also has experience working with those in the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities.

Michelle Elias

Michelle is a clinical intern in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She completed her undergraduate degree in Social Work and Psychology in 2023 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She is looking forward to working with clients of all ages and backgrounds.

Chris Fogarty

Chris is a clinical intern in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy at Georgia State University in 2005. Chris is passionate about building connections with individuals through evidence-based interventions, and he has a deep interest in working with people to find the journey that best defines their lives. Chris is excited to work with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
